Tino, adoro Café Trieste a San Francisco! Not quite the same cappuccino as a Roma, but that’s part of the beauty of it! Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Absolutely contact Guilia, I’m sure she would be delighted, she seems such a lovely person even though like you I only know her from her posts. Maybe your butcher was a bit like the girl at the checkout this morning, who, even after I asked her not to overload the bags, filled the freezer bag with so much I couldn’t even close the zip, then proceeded to do the same with another couple of bags. Maybe she is a bit deaf?, or thought it will be alright she is young and fit….not! 😂

Very revealing and entertaining summary, Tino.

I laughed aloud reading about your passport going through the wash cycle—twice. Extra clean. 😆

Well you are balancing that pretty nice so far. You know Mike last week I gave up my real estate licence and resigned from two board of directors. It was not easy to let go but today as I travel back to Italy I feel lighter and will devote time to other things that are not just as demanding. The important thing it’s to enjoy what we do. At this stage in our life especially.

Hope to see you and Liz in Tuscany again.

Guilia Scarpaleggia, is that a name you are familiar with Tino? She also lives in Colle di Val d’Elsa and operates cooking classes.

Didn’t you check first re the Vegans? A lesson learnt lol… A bit like when my husband and I celebrated our 80th last year, making sure there was food for vegetarians, a coeliac, one who wouldn’t eat carbs and another who only eats meat potatoes and peas.

You certainly have had an eventful few months, I’m looking forward to your 2025 posts.

Hi Sally, I feel I know you by now. Thank you for your comments, you keep me going. I follow Giulia’s post « Letters from Tuscany » very good NL. But you give me the idea to reach out to her and have coffee.

Yes I did know about the vegans but to be honest the butcher made a mistake and reserved me a much bigger turkey then I had ordered. Oh well!

Keep on reading and writing in this wonderful community.

A presto
